Naomi's Circle

What we offer for parents:

Local information
If you live in the greater Columbia area (Richland and Lexington Counties) of South Carolina, this website will give you comprehensive information about local support groups for parents, regional events for parents, and other ministries and services in our area, whether they are connected to Naomi's Circle or not, and whether they are faith-based or not.
We do not endorse all of these services, but list them here to give you the information you need.

Support
Join our Forums
and meet other men and women who have walked this road or are walking it now.  Connect with others who have asked the same questions and cried the same tears.  Visit a Naomi's Circle support group for in-person support that is both compassionate and faith-based.  Coming soon - our Connections ministry can get you in touch with another man or woman who has experienced a loss similar to yours and would like to walk with you down this road as a friend.

Information
Our Calendar
contains information about all known upcoming support group meetings and events in the greater Columbia area.  As we learn of support group meetings in other areas, we are willing to add them to our list.

Our "Resources" pages contain reviews of books and websites that you may find helpful in your journey .

A way to make a difference
You can touch others' lives through the forums and support groups listed on these pages.  When you join our community
, you can also contribute reviews, articles, poems, and touch the lives of parents who are just beginning this heartbreaking journey.  Feel free to contact us for more ideas.

What we offer for others:

Ideas
Our Articles have suggestions for friends and family members who don't know what to say or do, as well as ways for churches to reach out to couples on this difficult road.  Beginning in 2012, we will also offer a yearly seminar for area churches and ministry leaders to know how to come alongside families that are grappling with this difficult journey.

Explanations
Not sure what the difference is between a miscarriage and a stillbirth, but don't want to press your friend for information?  We have some simple explanations here as well.

A place to connect with others
Family, friends, ministers, health care workers and other professionals wondering how to best help parents who have lost a baby are also welcome in our Forums.  Here you can ask questions and get answers from other parents who may have walked the road longer than your loved ones.

Suggested materials
Our book and website reviews here and on our community site can help you make a decision about resources may be helpful to your loved ones.  Coming soon, we will also carry bereavement cards appropriate for pregnancy loss.
